ARLINGTON, Texas — Texas Health Resources has named Jennifer Schroeder to be the health system's new general counsel. She assumes the position on April 5, after taking on roles of increasing responsibilities in the legal services department since 2008. She replaces Ken Kramer, who recently retired after more than three decades with Texas Health.

As Texas Health’s general counsel, Schroeder will oversee the legal services department, as well as managed care, and merger and acquisition activities.

“Jennifer has provided excellent guidance for Texas Health for 18 years,” said Barclay Berdan, CEO for Texas Health. “She is a proven leader, respected for her strong leadership and commitment to helping Texas Health advance our Mission of improving the health of the people in the communities we serve.”

Jennifer has a master of healthcare administration from Texas Woman’s University, a juris doctor from Tulane Law School and a bachelor of arts degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. In addition, Jennifer has earned a certificate through the Harvard Business School Executive Education General Management Program. She is board-certified in health law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
