DENTON, Texas— Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Denton has been designated an Advanced Level III Trauma Facility by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), recognizing the hospital's commitment to providing high-quality trauma care to patients across Denton County and surrounding communities.

As a Level III Trauma Facility, Texas Health Denton has demonstrated its ability to provide prompt assessment, resuscitation, trauma stabilization, surgery and critical care for injured patients.

“Achieving Level III Trauma designation reflects the dedication, expertise and collaboration of physicians on the medical staff, nurses and care teams who work every day to serve our community,” said Jeff Reecer, FACHE, hospital president. “This designation recognizes our ability to provide timely, high-quality trauma care close to home and underscores our commitment to improving the health of the people in the communities we serve.”

The three-year designation follows a comprehensive application and review process by the state.

Trauma centers play a critical role in the emergency care system by providing specialized treatment for patients experiencing serious injuries. The designation helps ensure patients have access to advanced trauma services when and where they are needed most.
