HURST, Texas — Recognizing the vital role faith leaders play in supporting individual and community health and well-being, Texas Health Resources will once again host a summit to provide them with practical tools and resources. This marks the fifth year Texas Health is hosting the faith summit.
The 2026 Texas Health Faith Summit will be held Monday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Hurst Conference Center, 1601 Campus Drive in Hurst. Registration is $15 per person; a light continental breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Faith community nurses, pastors, clergy, chaplains, faith leaders, social workers, health promoters and community health workers from across the Metroplex are invited to attend for a full day of learning, fellowship and connection.
“In addition to the educational sessions, the event creates a space for meaningful dialogue,” said Laura Irvine, chief strategy and experience officer, Texas Health. “When healthcare and faith communities work together, they can address not just illness, but the non-medical and spiritual factors that impact overall health.”
Keynote speaker Dr. Froswa’ Booker-Drew, Ph.D., will speak on “Shaping Healthy Futures: Driving Health Through Community Collaboration.” Booker-Drew is widely recognized for her expertise in philanthropy, community engagement, leadership development, and cultural transformation.
Centered around the theme “Strong Communities, Healthy Futures,” the event will include interactive breakout sessions covering:
- Faith-based pathways to support maternal health
- Non-medical drivers of health
- Mental health
- Supporting health for different generations and abilities
This year’s summit will also feature three breakout sessions in Spanish. Those topics will be:
- Strategies for listening and communicating with empathy
- Overcoming language barriers – a non-medical social driver of health
- Addressing food and nutrition insecurity as a faith-based organization
The event is expected to draw more than 300 people and will include representatives from more than 50 non-profit organizations who work with and support those serving in faith-based and community health roles.
The event is organized by Texas Health Community Hope, a broad range of innovative programs, strategic investments and community collaborations dedicated to improving the health of North Texans.
