The Texas Health Research and Education Institute (THRE) is the non-profit research institute of Texas Health Resources, responsible for and supporting research endeavors and providing education about research across the 24 acute-care and short-stay hospitals that make up the Texas Health System.

Research is part of Texas Health's mission and commitment to our patients, our community, and our academic partners. Texas Health invests considerable professional, financial, data and operational resources into research to improve the health of the people in the communities we serve. THRE works individually with Texas Health physicians on the medical staff and other personnel to foster and support research interests, and provides infrastructure to support research that advances health care and improves the health and well-being of the people in the communities we serve.
