Texas Health Plano Offers $99 Advanced 3D Mammography
04/22/2013

ARLINGTON, Texas— Patients visiting Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano can now add an advanced breast imaging technology — 3D mammography — to a traditional digital mammogram for $99.

New 3D mammography is improving the way doctors screen for potential breast cancers. Women screened with 3D mammography, called breast tomosynthesis, have shown a 47 percent increase in cancer detection compared to 2D mammography alone, according to a recent study. MORE

As important as obstetrical and newborn services are to most women of childbearing age, other issues gather significance with the passing of years. That's why Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano also is committed to addressing the concerns of women in midlife and beyond.

One of the most crucial of these concerns is breast health. The women's services program at Texas Health Plano emphasizes breast health and offers care in breast cancer prevention, education, detection and treatment by physicians on the medical staff.

If you're among the millions of women concerned about breast cancer, this program is a reassuring source of hope.

Women's Diagnostic Center

The Sue A. de Mille Women's Diagnostic Center at Texas Health Plano offers women advanced medical technology in a compassionate and comfortable environment. We understand the anxiety associated with having a medical exam, so we've developed a warm, professional and feminine environment at the center. You'll appreciate how the soothing music, comfortable furnishings and classy design help make each visit a calming experience.

Physicians on the medical staff screen and diagnose breast diseases with some of the most sophisticated equipment available today. The Lorad digital mammography system at the center allows physicians on the medical staff to find smaller cancers earlier than when using conventional screen-film technology. The center also has a computer-aided detection system which uses new technology to search for patterns that are typically recognized as indicators for cancer. Sonography and breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are also available to aid in the screening and diagnosing of breast cancer.

The following services are available:
