'Fortune' and Great Place To Work® analyzed surveys of more than 600,000 women

ARLINGTON, Texas — Great Place To Work® and Fortune magazine have selected Texas Health Resources as one of the 2023 Fortune Best Workplaces for Women.

Best Workplaces for Women

Women currently hold more than 71% of leadership roles throughout the Texas Health system.

This is Texas Health’s seventh time being named to the prestigious list, this year coming in at No. 56 out of 100 large companies. Texas Health is the only health system in Texas listed.

“At Texas Health, we are dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive work environment for everyone,” said Carla Dawson, chief people officer, Texas Health. “We're proud to share that women currently hold over 71% of leadership roles throughout the system, including 51% of officer-level positions. This is a testament to our commitment to advancing gender equality in our leadership ranks.”

To determine the Best Workplaces for Women, Great Place To Work® analyzed the survey responses of over 600,000 women who work for Great Place To Work Certifiedcompanies that were eligible for the list. To be considered, a company must employ at least 50 women, have at least 20% of non-executive managers who are women and have at least one female executive.

Texas Health maintains a strong working environment for more than 28,000 employees who serve and care for patients in a 16-county area of North Texas. Texas Health offers employees a generous 401(k) program with company match, paid time off and time to volunteer in their communities. Benefits also include competitive healthcare choices and a variety of wellness programs aimed at keeping employees and their families healthy.

Offering benefits that are focused on family care is another way Texas Health strives to meet the needs of employees. These benefits include parental leave for new mothers and fathers, infertility coverage, adoption assistance, day care flexible spending accounts and pet insurance.

Texas Health has also created pathways for employees to further their education and professional development, including tuition reimbursement, a student loan repayment program and leadership development.

This focus on employee success and well-being has been recognized by multiple publications and organizations in 2023. Texas Health placed No. 3 nationally in Fortune's Best Workplaces in Health Care 2023 and ranked top in the state.

Also, this year, Texas Health ranked No. 6 on the Fortune Best Workplaces in Texas list and No. 66 on the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For® list.
