ARLINGTON, Texas— Texas Health Resources was named one of the 2026 Fortune Best Workplaces for Women™ by Great Place To Work® and Fortune magazine. This marks the organization’s 10th appearance on the list, ranking No. 38 this year among the nation's best employers. Women represent 78.9% of the Texas Health workforce and 71.1% of leadership roles.

Texas Health is led by Winjie Miao, who became CEO this year. She joined the organization more than 25 years ago as an administrative resident and rose to be a hospital president and in increasing roles of responsibility such as chief operating officer and president before becoming CEO. As Texas Health’s first female CEO, her career reflects the organization’s commitment to developing its people and creating opportunities for growth. Under her leadership, Texas Health continues that commitment while advancing innovative solutions to healthcare challenges and expanding access to high-quality care.
“This recognition reflects our commitment to creating a workplace where everyone feels valued, supported and empowered to grow and lead,” Miao said. “We're proud of the culture our employees have built together and the impact they make across North Texas every day.”
The recognition is based on confidential survey feedback from more than 640,000 women working at Great Place To Work Certified organizations nationwide. Companies are evaluated on employees’ workplace experiences, opportunities for growth and leadership representation. To qualify, organizations must employ at least 50 women, have women represent at least 20% of non-executive managers and have at least one woman serving in the C-suite.
“Being a great place to work doesn't happen by chance,” said Carla Dawson, chief people officer at Texas Health. “We intentionally invest in our employees through professional development, leadership opportunities and programs that support well-being and belonging, helping them do their life’s best work.”
Texas Health is committed to helping all employees excel at every stage of their careers and lives. The organization invests in comprehensive well-being resources, including wellness programs, mental health support and financial benefits designed to promote personal and professional success. For example, Texas Health employees benefit from a generous 401(k) with company match and robust mental health resources, including free access to the Headspace app for self-guided support. Employees are also eligible for up to eight free visits with a counselor per issue, per year, through the Employee Assistance Program.
Employees have access to leadership development, mentoring, continuing education, tuition reimbursement and student loan repayment programs, along with benefits that support work-life balance, including paid parental leave, adoption assistance, paid time off, a flex day and a paid volunteer day.
