By utilizing the insights and know-how of THR (a leading health system in North Texas)  and the buying power of Premier (4,100 US hospitals and healthy systems + 200,000 other providers), OnHand gets you access to the best tiers in terms of pricing for products and services you need while benefitting from the expertise of a healthcare operator in THR.

  • What is a GPO?

    A GPO is similar to a “big box” membership club, but without a membership fee or warehouse facility. In these bulk stores, the more we buy, the more you save. GPOs work in a similar way. Members join OnHand, choose which of our negotiated contracts they want to access from our portfolio, and place orders for products and services from the suppliers they have selected.

  • Is there any cost to join OnHand?

    No. Members pay no fees to join OnHand’s GPO, and there are no minimum purchasing requirements.

  • What are the benefits of joining OnHand?

    The benefits of joining OnHand go beyond cost savings, and include hands-on support, analyses, and auditing to ensure you’re getting the best pricing, an expansive purchasing portfolio curated for healthcare providers, and access to products that may otherwise be difficult to acquire, such as physician preference items (PPI) and regional purchased services.

  • Do I purchase directly from OnHand?

    No. You will continue to purchase directly from suppliers, and you will gain access to OnHand GPO contracts.

  • Do I have to change distributors?

    No. You can continue to use your existing medical/surgical and pharmaceutical distributors. However, as part of the onboarding process, you will need to let your distributors know that you are designating OnHand as your primary GPO, so they will honor our agreements and pricing. Our team will walk you through this process.

  • How do I get started?

    The first step is to fill out a membership application and provider profile form. The application will capture information about your practice, and the profile form will help us better understand your current purchasing practices and needs.

    Once these are completed, OnHand representatives will walk you through our onboarding process, including conducting additional analysis and attaching you to our negotiated contracts, so you can start purchasing.

  • What are member analytics and how do I access these tools?

    Member Analytics is a new service we’re providing to members that are submitting purchase order history to OnHand. Our first dashboard displays contract compliance by facility, manufacturer and contract. The dashboard also shows the amount of savings your company is leaving on the table with spend that’s not on contract. It’s essentially an automated business review that you can share with your stakeholders and leadership teams!

    Access to the contract compliance dashboard is free with OnHand membership. But – your organization does need to have the ability to submit purchase history to us on a monthly basis. For more information, please contact us at support@onhand.com.
