  • Shawn Parsley, D.O.

    President and Chief Operations Officer

    Shawn D. Parsley, D.O., was named president of Texas Health Physicians Group (THPG) in October 2013 after joining the group in January 2011. In May 2018, his role expanded to include chief operations officer with oversight of all THPG operations. He brings 20 years of experience as a successful family physician and healthcare business leader to THPG.

    In this role, Parsley works closely with Texas Health’s system and hospital leadership to develop and implement the organization’s employed physician and advanced practice provider strategy. In addition, he works jointly with Southwestern Health Resources, a regional health network integrating the UT Southwestern Medical Center and Texas Health Resources systems, to deploy value-based care initiatives.

    Parsley was a United States Army Health Professions Scholarship winner and subsequently served as a Captain in the U.S. Army where he was quickly elevated to chief of clinics for the largest outlying health clinic in the European Regional Medical Command. Before joining THPG, he served in leadership roles with Medical Edge Healthcare Group and successfully syndicated multiple physician-owned enterprises with successful exits. He has also served on a number of boards and committees both within Texas Health and in private business.

    Parsley received his undergraduate degree from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, before graduating medical school from the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. He completed residency and internship at Fort Worth’s Osteopathic Medical Center.

  • Lynn Myers, M.D.

    Chief Medical and Quality Officer

    Lynn Myers, M.D., is the chief medical and quality officer for Texas Health Physicians Group (THPG). In this role, she leads quality initiatives/outcomes, clinical resource utilization, use of clinical information technology, medical education and physician performance monitoring for physician practices within THPG. She is instrumental in Texas Health Resources and THPG’s efforts to improve safety and quality through training and education.

    In addition, Myers provides leadership for system strategic quality initiatives, including Patient-Centered Medical Home and NCQA physician recognitions. She delivers education on coding and documentation to THPG providers and provides clinical input to the compliance department.

    Myers joined THPG in January 2011 as a medical director of EMR, coding and medical education. She went on to become vice president of quality, coding and education in July 2016. In this role, she was instrumental in working on quality measurements at THPG to help improve and reduce variance in strategic patient outcomes relevant to both our key performance improvements and in compliance with accountable care organization contracts.

    Before joining THPG, Myers was a primary care physician for 20 years in Coppell. She currently serves as the Chair of the Southwestern Health Resources Physician Network Quality Committee and Chair of the THPG Quality and Safety Committee. Myers is also certified as a professional coder and in Healthcare Compliance.

    Myers received her undergraduate and medical degree from the University of Oklahoma. She completed her family practice residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.
