Once we receive your application, and your insurance has been verified, we will call you to start the initial screening process, which includes a phone interview followed by an office visit for a complete assessment and evaluation. During the office visit, you will have an opportunity to meet our transplant team — surgeon and nephrologist on the medical staff, nurse, transplant and financial coordinators, social workers, pharmacist and dietitian. In some circumstances, consults from other specialists may be required.
The transplant team will follow your progress closely and will keep you informed throughout your journey.
Candidates will be placed on the transplant waiting list with the United Network of Organ Sharing. When a donor kidney is available, you will receive a call from our transplant staff to come to the hospital to complete final tests to prepare for surgery.
