Vicki Brockman

Vicki Brockman, D.N.P., R.N., NE-BC, serves as chief nursing officer at Texas Health Cleburne.

She joined Texas Health in August 2016 from Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, where she served as assistant chief nursing officer.

During her more than 20-year career at Northwest, Brockman was instrumental in establishing The Children’s Hospital as well as the Child Life program. She also served on the system design team for the build of a new electronic medical record for nursing, and helped successfully transition the post-partum and newborn nursery to one mother-baby unit, which increased productivity and improved exclusive breastfeeding rates at discharge.

A nurse since 1981, Brockman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from West Texas University, a Master of Science in Nursing from West Texas A&M University, and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

Brockman has been active in the profession and her community. She helped re-establish the Panhandle Organization for Nurse Executives (PONE) and served as its president for two years. She is also a member of multiple professional organizations, including the American Organization for Nurse Executives, Texas Nurses Association, Academy of Medical Surgical Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, and the Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses. She has served on the board of directors for The Bridge Children’s Advocacy Center, Ronald McDonald House and Children’s Miracle Network, among other charitable organizations.

Outside of work, Brockman enjoys word and jigsaw puzzles, reading mystery novels and traveling, particularly to the mountains.
