Texas Health Heart & Vascular Hospital Arlington, located inside Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital on the 3rd & 5th floors, is a physician-led hospital offering advanced services for the diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular conditions. Patients who visit the emergency room at Texas Health Arlington Memorial with these conditions are transferred to the heart hospital to receive specialized care under a seamless process.



Parking & Transportation

Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital is at the corner of Randol Mill Road and Cooper Street.

Valet parking is available at the south entrance on Wright Street, Monday – Friday 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. Patients and visitors are encouraged to valet park or self-park in the South parking garage.

  • Effective 8/6/2021, one visitor at a time, up to two per day for patients who do not have COVID-19 or are not suspected of having COVID-19.

Please check in with the nurse regarding specific unit visiting hours and quiet time guidelines, or if you have any special needs or requests.

    James Jayachandran, M.D.
    James Jayachandran, M.D.

    James Jayachandran, M.D., is board certified in cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. He served his internship at the University of Tennessee Knoxville and residency at Indiana University School of Medicine, and completed fellowships in cardiovascular disease and clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Indiana University School of Medicine.

    Following internal medicine residency at Indiana University School of Medicine Indianapolis, Dr Jayachandran trained in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology at the Krannert Institute of Cardiology, Indiana University. Dr Jayachandran then served on the faculty of Indiana University as assistant professor of clinical medicine. At Indiana University he was involved in basic and clinical research in the mechanism of cardiac arrhythmias, teaching of cardiology trainees and was associate editor of the Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology

    Since 2003 he has been practicing clinical cardiac electrophysiology, with a practice focused on ablation of complex arrhythmias. He continues to be involved in academic activities, serving on editorial review boards reviewing manuscripts for the Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology and Heart Rhythm Journal.

    Sherri Emerson, R.N.
    Sherri Emerson, R.N., MSN, MBA, Chief Operating Officer, works alongside Dr. Nesbitt and Dr. Hamman to provide guidance, leadership and quality assurance within the heart hospital.

     

  • James Norcross, Chief Medical Officer
    James, Norcross, M.D.
    James, Norcross, M.D.
    James Norcross, M.D., is board certified in thoracic and cardiac surgery. He completed his undergraduate degree in psychology/zoology at Duke University and earned his medical degree at the University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine. He served his internship and residency, and completed a fellowship in cardiovascular/thoracic surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School.
