    United Health Care Mental Health and Substance Abuse Benefits and Support Services

    As a medical plan holder through UnitedHealthcare, you can access convenient on-demand help with stress, anxiety and more right from your fingertips through Self-Care and Talkspace.     Real Appeal is a clinical weight management program that helps United Healthcare members lose weight by focusing on lasting lifestyle changes by taking small, steady, sustainable steps. Real Appeal consists of up to 52 weeks of online support from a Real Appeal transformation coach and a success kit, both provided at no additional cost free of charge to new eligible.     Quit for Life Smoking Cessation

    Quitting smoking can have immediate health benefits at any age, but it can be a tough habit to break. Quit for Life™ is a tobacco cessation program available to all Texas Health employees and eligible members of their household. Services include individual phone-based counseling with a Quit Coach, personalized Quit Guides providing helpful information so you can stay on track, access to Web Coach, as well as Nicotine Replacement Therapy.     Texas Health Relief Fund

    “The Texas Health employee relief fund provides short-term financial assistance to employees experiencing significant financial hardship due to personal/catastrophic events. This fund awards grants to eligible employees to help cover basic and critical needs.     Helping Hands Fund

    An employee who has experienced a catastrophic event and has used all of their PTO can apply and, if approved, receive PTO hours from the fund. A central system-wide Helping Hands Committee administers the Fund and each request is considered on a case-by-case basis, evaluating the employee’s economic circumstances, nature of the situation or catastrophic event, the estimated length of absence from work, and the amount of PTO available in the Helping Hands Fund.     988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline

    Lifeline provides free, confidential support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for anyone of any age, including non-English speakers. Anyone can call the Lifeline, whether they are thinking about suicide or not, and get emotional support. 988 has been designated as the new three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (now known as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) and is now active across the United States.     National Domestic Violence Hotline

    The National Domestic Violence Hotline is a 24-hour confidential service for adult and youth survivors, victims and those affected by domestic violence, intimate partner violence and relationship abuse. The Hotline provides crisis intervention, domestic violence education, safety planning and connection to service providers such as local shelters and referrals to agencies that provide legal and economic resources.     Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)
