Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth has a longstanding history of providing advanced medical care. Serving North Texas as a Level I Trauma Center and Emergency Center of Excellence by Emergency Excellence, the hospital has once again earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® and the American Heart Association’s Heart-Check mark for Advanced Certification for Comprehensive Stroke Centers and Comprehensive Cardiac Center Certification. The hospital is also the first in North Texas to earn the American College of Cardiology Transcatheter Valve Certification. Additionally, it is only the second hospital in the nation to earn the Gold Seal of Approval for Brain Tumor Certification by The Joint Commission. We also offer outstanding care for growing families and have been voted the "Best Place to Have a Baby" 20 times by readers of Fort Worth Child magazine. Visitor Information
Patients may receive visitors at any time (specialty units may have some variation). Please check with the nurse regarding specific unit visiting hours and quiet time guidelines, or if you have any special needs or requests.
For safety reasons, latex balloons or other latex products are not allowed (mylar balloons are OK).

Jared Shelton, President

Jared Shelton Jared Shelton, FACHE, serves as president of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, assuming the role in September 2024 after a two-year stint as president at Texas Health HEB.
Shelton's previous roles included six years as president of Texas Health Allen, and a term as vice president of Professional & Support Services for Texas Health Dallas.
He completed his undergraduate studies at Wake Forest University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business and a minor in religion. He also earned a Master of Science in health care administration from Trinity University. Shelton was named the 2024 Trinity University Health Care Administration Alumni Association “Momentum Award” winner, which recognizes early careerists age 40 and under for outstanding achievements in the field of health care management.
Shelton currently serves as a trustee on the Board of Directors for the Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council. He is also serving a three-year term as Regent for the American College of Healthcare Executives in District 4, Texas-Northern. He is a past president for the North Texas chapter of ACHE. He has served two terms on the Texas Hospital Association’s "Council on Policy Development" and is also a member of the Wake Forest Athletic Advisory Council.
Outside of work, Shelton and his wife, Kathryn, enjoy parenthood with their young children — daughters, Mackenzie and Caroline, and son, Jack.

Debbie Phillips, Chief Nursing Officer

Debbie Phillips Debbie Phillips, M.S., R.N., FNP-BC, serves as chief nursing officer of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth.
Debbie brings a wealth of experience to this role, having served Texas Health Fort Worth for 39 years. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a deep commitment to nursing excellence, quality patient care and strong clinical leadership.
She served as Magnet Program Director for the hospital’s second Magnet® designation and has provided leadership support across all five Magnet designations, helping reinforce a culture of nursing excellence and evidence-based practice across the organization.
Debbie also led and supported The Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center designation, helping Texas Health Fort Worth achieve the first Comprehensive Stroke Center designation in Tarrant County. In addition, she has been a key clinical and operational leader in achieving and maintaining the American College of Surgeons Level I Trauma Center designation, supporting the highest level of trauma care and outcomes for our patients and community.
In her free time, Debbie enjoys spending time with her family, traveling and working in her yard.

Amy Papst, Chief Quality and Medical Officer

Amy L. Papst Amy L. Papst, M.D., M.S.-H.C.T., serves as chief quality and medical officer at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, undertaking that role in March 2022.
A board certified anesthesiologist, Papst has a strong background in informatics and electronic health record (EHR) platforms. In a previous post as chief medical officer at Ascension Seton Medical Center in Austin, she helped expand graduate medical education to more than 36 residency and fellowship programs and made significant reduction of healthcare-associated infections.
Papst completed medical school and residency at the University of Arizona and earned a Master of Science Degree in Health Care Transformation at the University of Texas at Austin while serving as CMO at Ascension.
She and her husband, Greg, have three adult children and an English springer spaniel named Doc, who loves to hunt. Outside work, she enjoys spending time on their ranch, hunting and traveling. She and her husband also are avid bowlers.
