The 100-bed Marion Emergency Care Center at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth is staffed by independent full-time physicians who are board certified in emergency medicine and by nurses certified in emergency care and advanced life support.

Emergency physicians on the medical staff and the nurses and technicians participate in ongoing continuing education programs to keep abreast of current trends and developments in emergency medicine and care.

The 75,000 square foot center is as specialized as its staff. The ER is equipped to care for a full range of injuries and illnesses, including:

  • Critical traumatic injuries
  • Heart attacks
  • Broken bones
  • Sexual assault
  • Poisoning
  • Colds
  • Asthma attacks

We realize time is of the essence when you visit the emergency room. With patient flow control, the first staff member seen is a registered nurse, who determines your emergent needs within one minute. The average wait time to see a physician is 15 minutes.

The center also has a special area dedicated solely to chest pain patients. Texas Health Fort Worth is designated as a Cycle III Chest Pain Center and an Acute Heart Failure Center from the Society of Chest Pain Centers. The hospital has met stringent national standards for rapid recognition and comprehensive treatment of heart failure.

In addition, the hospital is accredited as a Primary Stroke Center by the Joint Commission.

For minor care needs, the ED offers a 10-bed Triage/Assessment/Super-Track area, designed to expedite care colds and minor injuries. The Super-Track area, open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., is available for the cost of your emergency insurance co-pay. The main lobby of the ER leads to Super Track, which consists of two triage rooms and eight treatment stations intended to identify and treat minor cases in 60 minutes or less.

Patients who need a higher level of care are taken to the 26-room Quick Care section. Those requiring extensive workups will be taken to one of 42 diagnostic rooms, which include:

  • Ultrasound
  • X-ray
  • CAT scanners
  • MRI equipment

Patients with critical injuries or illnesses are treated in one of 22 Emergent Care rooms, including three resuscitation rooms for the most severe trauma cases. The ER also has a dedicated area for comprehensive, compassionate care of sexual assault victims and a large Senior Health and Wellness Center.

Amenities at the Marion Center provide comfort, convenience and security. Each of the 100 private patient rooms has wireless Internet access and a flat-screen TV.
