• Emergency Medicine II
• Emergency Medicine III, Precepting
• Emergency Medicine IV, Independent Practice
• Critical Care Critical Care (selective ICU^)
• Overnight Emergency Medicine I
• Orientation (3-4 weeks+)
• Pediatric Emergency Medicine (off-site at Cook Children’s Medical Center)

+ Orientation shortened to 2 weeks for internal PGY2 EM residents having completed their PGY1 residency at THFW.

Elective Rotations:

• Additional Critical Care (different ICU than required rotation)
  • Medical ICU^
  • Trauma-Surgical ICU^
  • Cardiovascular ICU^
• Neurosurgical ICU (2 weeks)
• Overnight Emergency Medicine II
• Pediatric Critical Care (2-4 weeks, off-site at Cook Children’s Medical Center) Other elective learning experiences may be developed based on resident interest and preceptor availability.

All required rotations are 4-6 weeks and elective rotations are 4 weeks, unless otherwise noted

• Teaching Certificate Program (optional; if not completed during PGY1)

*Staffing Requirement: Decentralized, 10-hour shifts in the ED; 16 weekends (every third weekend) plus 1 major holiday (2-day commitment)
