About the Program

The Nurse Intern Program at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth includes eight weeks of hands on clinical rotations across various inpatient units, including medical surgical, critical care, and specialty units. Interns partner closely with an RN preceptor, gaining real world exposure to patient care, teamwork, and the pace of a busy hospital environment. In our ninth year, we continue to shape confident, compassionate, and practice ready nurses.

Program Highlights:

  • Nine week paid internship; One week orientation remaining eight clinical bedside
  • 36 hours per week (excluding orientation week)
  • Weekly educational development sessions
  • Exposure to multiple Texas Health Fort Worth hospital units
  • Networking opportunities throughout the hospital
  • Option to continue as a PRN nurse extern after completing the program

Eligibility

Participants must meet the following requirements:

  • Enrollment and good standing in an accredited nursing program
  • Junior or Senior level nursing student upon application (Must have completed first semester of nursing program)
  • Availability for the full internship timeframe
  • Authorization to work in the United States
