Michele Spieler, MBA, B.S.N., R.N., NEA-BC, serves as the chief nursing officer of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas, assuming the role in September 2025.

In her position at Texas Health Dallas, Spieler works closely with the hospital president, Chris York, along with Sarah Way, M.D., chief quality and medical officer, and Keith Nichols, chief operating officer, to develop and oversee the implementation of policies, procedures and practices to support safe, high-quality patient care. She is responsible for the management of nursing practice, nursing education, professional development, nursing research and nursing administration.

Michele joined Texas Health Resources in 1998 as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department at Texas Health Dallas. She became a nurse manager at the hospital in 2015 and was promoted to director of nursing operations in 2016 before being promoted to associate chief nursing officer in 2020.

In this role, she has had direct oversight of two nursing directors, seven nursing managers and approximately 400 full-time employees. She was the executive who helped lead a $1 million project to redesign, update and meet patient/staff safety needs for Emergency Department triage and treatment space. Michele has served as the executive representative for central line-associated bloodstream infection (CLABSI), falls and hospital-acquired pressure injury (HAPI) committees. Under her leadership, the hospital experienced a 75% reduction in the CLABSI rate. In addition, Michele created the hospital’s Supervisor Partnership Council to further engage, educate, develop and promote clinical nurse supervisors. She was named to the DFW Great 100 Nurses list this year and also received D Magazine’s Excellence in Nursing award.

Michele earned a Master of Business Administration degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Texas Woman’s University. She received her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University.

Michele’s history with Texas Health Dallas goes back even further than her 27 years of employment, as she was born at the hospital, and her two children were born here too. Her daughter is now a senior at the University of Arkansas, and her son is a sophomore at Louisiana State University. As a Texas A&M Aggie, Michele says the three enjoy a fun football rivalry each year. Outside of work, Michele enjoys traveling and attending sporting events, especially if they involve the Dallas Mavericks or the New Orleans Saints.
