  • Labor and Delivery
    • 12-bed labor and delivery unit
    • Labor-delivery-recovery (LDR) rooms allow for the entire birth process to occur in one room, with high-tech medical assistance only steps away
    • The labor and delivery unit also hosts a two-bed operating suite and dedicated recovery area
    • Trained, dedicated, healthcare professionals to meet all of your birthing needs
  • Maternal Newborn Care
    • 26-bed maternal newborn unit includes all private rooms with accommodations for a support person to stay with the new mom
    • Your new baby can stay with you as much as you like. Rooming in is encouraged as a part of the hospital's "baby-friendly" initiative
    • Trained, dedicated, maternal newborn healthcare professionals are here to attend to all of your, and your new baby’s needs and assist you with caring for your new baby. They will encourage rooming in and provide opportunities for you and your baby to have skin to skin bonding time. They will focus on providing you with information and education to prepare you for caring for yourself and newborn when you go home
    • Trained maternal newborn nurses and IBCLC certified lactation consultants are available to assist with any feeding or breastfeeding concerns
  • Level III NICU
    • A 10-bed Level III NICU is the only one in Denton
    • The NICU opened in 2005 and there are plans to expand the capacity to meet growing needs of the community
    • The NICU team includes specially-trained registered nurses, neonatal nurse practitioners, neonatologists (doctors who specialize in the care of newborns and critical care of infants), respiratory therapists, and unit secretaries who work collaboratively to meet the critical care needs of the tiniest of patients

Certified Lactation Consultants

Certified lactation consultants host the Mommy and Me Mixer. This is a time and place where mom and baby can come for breastfeeding support, information, weigh your baby and meet with other moms. The consultants are available to answer your questions and offer education and support.
