2015 INFORMATION: Texas Health Resources regularly reviews data regarding its workforce and projected staffing needs for years into the future, and we have determined that we will not have a Prodigy class in summer 2015. Announcements and information about other future Prodigy classes will be posted here as soon as they’re determined.
ABOUT THE PROGRAM: The Texas Health Youth Prodigy Program, offered through Texas Health Resources University, is both an educational and employment opportunity for recent high school graduates who have an interest in pursuing a career in registered nursing. After a summer of paid training and working full-time hours at Texas Health, Prodigy students take part-time jobs at Texas Health hospitals around Dallas-Fort Worth while continuing their academic work. The Prodigy Program is designed to be a pathway to eventually earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing by first earning an associate degree, with college-credit prerequisite courses taken at DFW-area community colleges.
