The 45 bed emergency department is staffed by independent, full-time physicians on the medical staff who are board-certified in emergency medicine and by registered nurses certified in emergency care and advanced life support.

For minor care needs, Texas Health Plano now offers Express Care, designed to expedite treatment for conditions such as colds and minor injuries. Unlike urgent care facilities and freestanding emergency rooms, Express Care has access to specialists on Texas Health Plano’s medical staff, on-site laboratory and imaging capabilities, and can admit patients directly to the hospital when needed. Express Care is open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. and is available for the cost of your emergency insurance co-pay.
We realize time is important when you visit the emergency room, especially for patients experiencing chest pain. Texas Health Plano is designated as a Cycle IV Chest Pain Center by the Society of Chest Pain Centers, meeting stringent national standards for rapid recognition and comprehensive treatment of chest pain. In addition, Texas Health Plano is certified as a Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission and as a designated Advanced Level III Trauma facility by the Texas Department of Health Services.
