Participate in National Lung Cancer Screening Day on Saturday, November 8, 2025.
Schedule your low-dose CT scan of the chest and lungs.* A radiologist will review the scan for signs of nodules that might indicate cancer.
* Covered by most insurance. Must meet screening criteria and have a doctor’s order. Appointment required.
Are you eligible?
- 50 to 80 years old
- No signs or symptoms of lung cancer
- Currently smoke or have quit in the past 15 years
- Have at least a 20 pack-year smoking history
Calculate a pack year by taking the number of years you smoked and multiply that by the amount you smoked each day. For example, if you smoked 1 pack per day for 20 years = 20 pack years.
How to prepare for the screening
You will need to see your primary care doctor and discuss the benefits and limitations of lung screenings with low-dose CT scans. If you are a candidate for a lung screening, your doctor must complete and submit the order form for the location of your choice (Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital or Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano).
