Everyone has an occasional sleepless night. However, if you have trouble sleeping on a regular basis, you may have a sleep disorder. Lack of truly restful sleep can impair your ability to carry out daily responsibilities and adversely affect your physical and mental health. The Sleep Medicine Institute at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas offers a comprehensive evaluation of your sleep patterns and their impact on your health. Testing is conducted in a private, calm and welcoming environment.

Comprehensive Evaluations

The Sleep Medicine Institute provides comprehensive evaluation and treatment of the full spectrum of sleep disorders. Board-certified sleep medicine physicians on the medical staff determine the type of sleep problems you may be having and discern whether further testing is appropriate. A number of diagnostic studies may be performed to help identify your sleep problem accurately, including:

  • Comprehensive Diagnostic Polysomnogram (sleep study)
  • CPAP/BiPAP/Auto SV Titration Polysomnograms (sleep studies, including various treatments for sleep apnea)
  • Multiple Sleep Latency Test (daytime nap test to evaluate daytime sleepiness)
  • Maintenance of Wakefulness Test (often required of drivers and pilots)

Exceptional Facilities

The Sleep Medicine Institute is located in the main building at Texas Health Dallas. We strive to provide a comfortable environment for testing that is similar to that of a hotel rather than a hospital. The Sleep Medicine Institute features six private rooms, each with their own bathroom and shower. All rooms are equipped with a comfortable bed, a recliner or sofa, a desk and a television. In each room, windows are darkened at night by total blackout shades. If needed or upon request, designated rooms can accommodate a hospital bed for an additional bed for a caregiver, spouse or parent.

Schedule a Sleep Study

To schedule a sleep study directly, your physician can send an order to the scheduling department. Alternatively, if you or your physician believes that you should see a sleep specialist first, a consultation may be arranged.
