In 1988, Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford established the first open-heart surgery program in Northeast Tarrant County. Today, Texas Health HEB provides a wide range of cardiac services.

From emergency care to open-heart surgery to the cardiac catheterization lab to cardiac rehabilitation, the physicians on the medical staff of Texas Health HEB provide comprehensive support for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiology patients. Services are offered for individuals with both inpatient and outpatient needs, using advanced medical equipment supplemented by rehabilitation programs, educational classes and support groups.

Heart Attack Warning Signs

If you are experiencing chest discomfort with one or more of the following warning signs, call 911 and get to a hospital as soon as possible.

  • Chest discomfort: Most heart attacks involve discomfort in the center of the chest that lasts more than a few minutes, or that goes away and comes back. It can feel like uncomfortable pressure, squeezing, fullness or pain.
  • Discomfort in other areas of the upper body: Symptoms can include pain or discomfort in one or both of the arms, the back, neck, jaw or stomach.
  • Shortness of breath: The feeling often comes along with chest discomfort, but it can occur before the chest discomfort.
  • Other signs: These may include breaking out in a cold sweat, nausea or lightheadedness.
