The Texas Health Dallas PGY-2 Critical Care Pharmacy Residency was founded in 2017 and officially ASHP accredited in 2021. The 12-month long residency offers varied practice experiences including medical ICU, neurocritical care and trauma ICU, cardiovascular ICU, antimicrobial stewardship, neonatal ICU, emergency department, and oncology, among others. Residents will participate in both formal and informal multidisciplinary education, student preceptorship, and preparation of projects for presentation. Committee involvement will sharpen communication and leadership skills. The staffing requirement is one weekend every fourth week, as well as 5 weekdays during pre-specified rotation experiences. Upon completion of the program, the resident is awarded a residency certificate.
