Working Hard at Sitting

Sometime between 4 and 7 months, many babies work hard at being able to sit upright on their own.

Sitting up straight without toppling is exciting for your child; it frees her hands to pick up and play with toys, rather than hold herself up.

Continue to give her safe objects to explore: unbreakable items too large to swallow, yet small and light enough to grasp and pick up. Keep putting small pillows around her in case she falls over.
