Encouraging Sharing

As toddlers approach age 3, they’re beginning to understand and appreciate other people’s actions and feelings. Cooperative play is becoming possible and with that comes the opportunity to share.

This is when you can really encourage your toddler to not only share with his or her peers, yourself and other family members but also to:

  • Find peaceful solutions to disagreements
  • Take turns
  • Use words rather than gestures or emotional outbursts
