Don’t let anyone tell you not to respond to your baby’s cries. You cannot spoil a baby. An infant’s wants and needs are one and the same. Your baby wants and needs warmth, food and the comfort of your arms and voice.

The sense that you will be there when he or she needs you gives your baby the confidence to grow toward independence in small, age-appropriate steps.
