Development In Premature Babies

Remember that if your baby was premature, you need to correct her age week for week. If she was born at 36 weeks gestation, she will not smile until about 12 weeks of age rather than 8 weeks.

This holds true for all developmental milestones until about 2 years of age when most premature babies have caught up with their peers.
