Expanding Food Preferences

Is your baby pushing or turning away from those puréed string beans? Don’t give up.

Research has shown that most very young children are more likely to accept an unfamiliar food after it has been offered at least 6 times—and even up to 15 times. If your baby turns down something she hasn’t seen before, continue offering her little bits of it at each meal for a few days, and see if she’ll eventually give it a try.
