Birthday Parties

When planning a party, simple and small are good guidelines for very young children. At this age, too many children and too much excitement can be more stressful than fun for the birthday child.

If your child knows a few other children (no more than 3 or 4) from daycare or the neighborhood, you might invite them over (each with a parent) for an hour or so of casual play.

Put out some play dough or sing some songs or other low-key activities. Allowing toddlers to play freely, rather than organizing games with rules, is the wisest course.
