Can You Draw Me a Picture?

Give your child crayons, paints or pencils and ask him not only to draw you a picture, but to draw you specific objects.

Encourage your child to draw circles by asking her to create a sun or moon, or to draw straight lines (either just the lines themselves or objects that have straight lines in them).

This kind of art practice will help your child develop key hand and finger skills—and will give you some wonderful new pieces to hang on your refrigerator.
