Crossing the Street

Crossing the street can seem like a big and important thing for young children, especially when they see older children crossing on their own.

Your child is obviously too young to cross even the quietest street by himself, but it’s not too early to teach him good crossing skills. On walks together, hold hands, and practice looking both ways when you need to cross the street.

You can even ask your toddler if she sees any cars coming in either direction, and seek her opinion about whether or not it’s safe to cross.
