Good Manners

Your toddler is so receptive now—soaking in all aspects of becoming a social being. Now is the time to begin teaching the basics of good manners.

When you say “please” and “thank you,” your toddler will begin to follow your example.

As she gradually understands the use and effectiveness of these words, you can start reminding her to use them—until the habit becomes ingrained as the way to interact with others. Praise her use of the words and encourage them.
