Pointing to a Teaching Opportunity

Your toddler’s fingers and hands are pretty busy lately. Toddlers love to point to things—particularly things they know. This is a great opportunity for you to teach your little one about his body, so that he’s able to point to his nose when you ask where it is, etc.

Toddlers also point to things because they want to learn. By encouraging them when they point and turning it into a short phrase or word they can remember, you’re building a vocabulary and starting a conversation.
