Teaching Handwashing

Handwashing is still one of the best ways to prevent the spread of illness. If you haven’t yet taught your toddler how to do this by herself, start now.

Tell him how important it is to wash after using the bathroom, when hands get dirty or before eating.

Teach her to wash with soap and warm water while singing the words to “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” (which provides time for sufficient washing).

If he can’t sing that himself, sing it with him while he washes his hands.
